 Medical Observership Medical Students, Residents & Fellow

All observers at Trillium Health Partners must receive approval from a supervising physician and be registered through the Education Office. These experiences are only available for students in good standing at a Canadian medical school.

  • Medical trainees must contact the Education Office to request a placement, providing the appropriate details, including the staff physician who has agreed to supervise them (Observership experiences are organized directly between the student and the physician in their program of interest);
  • Once an observership has been agreed to by the physician supervisor, the Education Office facilitates the validation and registration process which requires:
    • A letter of good standing from the Canadian medical school in which the student is registered;
    • A signed Oath of Confidentiality;
    • A completed registration form;
    • Final confirmation from the hospital program of available capacity.

All requirements must be met prior to arrival.

At this time, we are not able to accommodate requests from students from international schools who are not registered at a Canadian medical school. *All inquiries from medical learners should be made to the Education Office.
