Update on Gift Giving to Patients
To our patients’ friends and family,
We understand this may be a special time of year for you and your loved ones. Due to infection prevention measures during COVID-19, THP does not currently accept gifts for patients. However, we do accept essential belongings for patients. Please contact Patient Relations at 905-848-7164 to arrange a drop off.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.
Providing patients and essential visitors with masks is an additional precaution THP is taking to ensure patients, staff and professional staff are protected.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we respond to COVID-19.
Visitor restrictions and designated entrances
In response to the evolving situation around COVID-19, and with information from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, we are taking additional precautions to safeguard the health and safety of all. Effective Friday, March 20, 2020 at 10 p.m. visitors will no longer be permitted at any of our sites. Limited exceptions will be granted for visitors supporting patients who are:
- At end of life;
- Critically ill;
- Under the age of 18; or,
- Women in the birthing suites
In order to provide safe, high-quality care, we must reduce the transmission of illness as best we can to protect all patients, including those most vulnerable and at risk. We will continue to re-evaluate our infection prevention and control measures and make changes as necessary.
In addition, patients are being asked to enter through designated entrances, which will be staffed by screeners who will conduct a short verbal health assessment survey. Please refer to the maps below for information on how to access our facilities:

COVID-19 Update on Elective Surgeries
Following the directive of the Ministry of Health, Ontario Hospital Association and the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Trillium Health Partners postponed elective surgeries beginning March 17. Given the evolving situation of COVID-19, THP will continue to postpone all elective surgeries.
Patients are currently being notified and we will be reassessing this timeframe as needed. We will continue to perform urgent, emergency and oncology surgeries.
These measures will help to decrease the flow of patients into the hospital and increase capacity and resources as we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We thank all of our community members for their patience and understanding as we work to curb the transmission of this virus.
