Description of Service
The Outpatient Neuro Rehab Services Clinic provides comprehensive, team-based care for adults living with neurological conditions. Our goal is to support recovery, improve function, and help individuals regain independence in their daily lives. Through personalized therapy plans and collaborative care, we empower patients to achieve meaningful progress in their recovery journey.
Specific Services Offered
Services offered include:
Occupational Therapy:
- Therapy for arm and hand function.
- Assessment and retraining of thinking and perceptual skills.
- Recommendations for adaptive equipment.
- Improving abilities to manage daily activities (i.e. self-care, cooking, housekeeping etc.).
- Support for returning to community life.
Social Work:
- Individual, family, and/or caregiver counselling.
- Support with post-illness adjustment, coping, and emotional well-being.
- Help with financial concerns.
- Connection to community resources.
Speech-Language Pathology:
Assessment and treatment for:
- Speech difficulties.
- Language difficulties (comprehension, recalling words, expressing an idea; reading, writing, smartphone and computer access)
- Cognitive communication (memory, reasoning, problem solving, organizing).
- Swallowing difficulties.
To refer for instrumental evaluation of swallowing difficulties, visit swallowing clinic.
Physiotherapy:
Assessment and treatment of:
- Posture and alignment.
- Motor recovery and strength.
- Balance, endurance, and range of motion.
- Pain management.
- Functional mobility including: transfers, gait and stairs.
Preparation for Visit
Please note that due to the high number of patient visits to our hospital every day, you may experience clinic wait times and a delay in finding parking. We encourage you to arrive early and allow for extra time on the day of your appointment. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Education & Additional Information
You may qualify for Outpatient Neuro Rehab Services if you:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Are medically stable
- Have a neurological condition, such as:
- Stroke (within the past 12 months)
- Acquired brain injury (e.g., aneurysm, within the past 12 months)
- Multiple sclerosis or other progressive neurological conditions
- Live in Mississauga or in Toronto postal codes: M8W, M9A, M9B, M9C
- Are under the care of a family physician
- Are able to attend regular therapy sessions and complete recommended home exercises
- Are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol during sessions
- Can arrange for assistance, if needed, for toileting or navigating the clinic during visits
Virtual Therapy
All our therapies are available in person or virtually. In order to participate in virtual therapy, it is recommended that you:
- Have access to email and reliable internet
- Have access to a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer with camera and microphone (smartphone is not sufficient).
- Have a support person available if needed during sessions.
