High School Co-Op Student Program

The Trillium Health Partners (THP) high school co-operative education program is an experiential learning program in partnership with specific school boards. Each September and February, THP places eligible high school students in co-op placements in a variety of department at all sites.

Students interested in this program must consult their co-op teacher, guidance department or the Co-op Coordinator in their school/school board to confirm their school board has a partnership with THP. Any questions related to the Co-op program MUST BE DIRECTED to your school and not THP.

  • Intake is twice a year, from September to January and from February to June
  • Applications are received by the THP HS Co-op Coordinator in Volunteer Resources
  • THP cannot accept applications directly from co-op students, individual schools, co-op teachers or from school boards that don’t have a partnership with THP
  • Applications are provided to partnering school boards in April and October
  • Eligible HS co-op students apply in their schools using the THP application form
  • An application to THP does not guarantee an interview or a co-op placement as there are far more applications received than there are co-op placements
  • All HS co-op students applying for placements at THP must provide proof of two Ontario government issued COVID-19 vaccinations with their co-op application; to download an enhanced vaccine certificate: How to get your COVID19 vaccine certificate
  • COVID-19 vaccinations received in other provinces or outside of Canada must be converted to an Ontario certificate by registering vaccinations at a local public health unit public health unit / contact your local public health unit
  • Successful co-op applicants must get a 2-step TB test and complete a record of immunity with their doctor which may require getting blood work and/or immunizations for Mumps, Measles, Rubella and Varicella and Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis
